What the fuck is Ptyr?

Basically: Ptyr is the name for a town i came up with for my dnd campaign. originally it was just a place where the party lived and got quests (i was using characters and a setting from a dnd campaign i was in at the time so i had to work of some previous lore i couldnt just retcon) but then i decided that just before my campaign started i was gonna have downtime so i decided to make it a little interesting and did some *light* internal worldbuilding. then i lost fucking control and decided that its a small town w a strong presence from major world powers (think churches and the theives/assasins guilds) but no goverment bc the ppl of the town said fuck off. why are the churches n guilds there? why is there a black market that avoid the fucking theives guild? whats the actual world called bc this aint ur grans faerun anymore? (dont @ me about the accent)

I did kinda word that weird but basically the theives and assasins guild still do assasiny and theivey things but they also have a strict moral code and follow it to determin targets (like robin hood but if it was organised crime or like the order of the reaper or whatever theyre called in hwfwm (iykyk)). in ptyr the goverment (a monarchy) of the country tried to get goverment shit into ptyr but the townsfolk said "nah fuck that" but the theives guild and assasins guild were already there and fucking up ppl who got caught doing shit (even their own members if they get caught) and eventually formed a joint "good" guild: the adventurers guild (ill get into them in a minute)
W regards to the actual question i asked myself: theres a black market that sells stolen shit stolen by ppl not in the theives guild or shit that the theives guild is vehemently against (think endangered animals or pyrite (it messes w magic and is used in handcuffs for wizards cause it makes their magic inconsistent + its quite rare (in sario (more about that later))))

basically sario is the world that ptry (the town i will elaborate more on it specifically later) is in. sario is low magic. like SUPER low magic. like not even the queen has magic really other than some wizards she employs but like most of the sario wizards r super powerful too. i havent fleshed sario out too much since its kinda just like a backdrop for the meat and potatoes of the setting: ptyr

ALRIGHT! PTYR!!! so ptyr is located in a wild magic region (ill elaborate more on my magic lore and also wild magic lore later on) and as such is also much more magically rich than the rest of the world. ptyr has as mentioned much more meddeling from gods and guilds. also bc its super high magic u cant even walk 5 feet before spotting a wizard with a pig's head and wings, fifty copies of the same fighter trying to fit through the same door, or a demon getting smited by the paladin of a nearby church. and if u walk 10 feet wild magic sends u to hell or sends a spire springing out of the ground. or the dogs gain elephant trunks and the slugs become fucking massive. or ur basement is an evil necromancers lair the next day. who the fuck knows lmfaooooo
